Montebello Takes Dedication of the Pines
(November 2009) The Village of Montebello signed an agreement today with JMK Building Corp. to take dedication of the roads in the Montebello Pines development, as well as the 25-acre park at the center of the development.
Montebello Pines, a 176 lot subdivision in the Village of Montebello, was approved in 1996 and construction began immediately thereafter. The last houses were completed in 2007. The Pines includes more than 4 miles of roads.
The Park consists of approximately 25 acres of forest and 7 ponds. The Village Board created the park by reducing the average density of the lot sizes.
This dedication allows the Village to develop the Park for passive recreation. Plans include scenic trails and a small parking lot. Work on the paths has already begun, as has work on repairing and maintaining the earthen dams. Traffic control signs were recently installed throughout the Pines.
Sewers in the Pines were dedicated in the last year to the Sewer District. Montebello will now provide highway services, including snow plowing and road maintenance.
